The Maj Lind International Piano Competition held in Helsinki on 14-27 October 2022 culminated in the second Orchestral Final on Thursday evening. The jury declared Piotr Pawlak the winner.

In the Orchestral Finals the contestants will perform a piano concerto with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Anna-Maria Helsing.
In the chamber music final on 23 October, the finalists will play a quartet together with chamber music ensembles Kamus or Meta4.
The jury selected the finalists on Friday evening after the second round.
The commissioned work for the competition was composed by Outi Tarkiainen. Competitors may, in the second round, alternatively improvise on a theme. The theme is issued 20 minutes before performance.
14 competitors will continue in the second round.
Starting order for the First Round from October 14 to 18 is drawn.
The fifth International Maj Lind Piano Competition will take place in Helsinki during the schools’ holiday break 14–27 October 2022.
