Joachim Carr (born 22 May 1988, Bergen) studied at the Barratt Due Institute of Music in Oslo with Jiri Hlinka and at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin with Eldar Nebolsin. In 2014 he was awarded the first prizes at the Edvard Grieg International Piano Competition in Bergen and at the Concours International de Musique de Chambre de Lyon. He has been a soloist with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, Bergen Philharmonic, Lithuanian State Symphony, Norwegian Radio and other orchestras, and has given solo recitals at the Ruhr, Zermatt, Lofoten and Bergen Festivals. His debut album, of works by Schumann, Brahms and Berg, was released in 2014 by Claves Records.
