We are pleased to announce that the application period for the pianists is April 1 – May 31, 2022 . The fifth International Maj Lind Piano Competition is open to all pianists born in or after 1992.

The Maj Lind International Piano Competition held in Helsinki on 14-27 October 2022 culminated in the second Orchestral Final on Thursday evening. The jury declared Piotr Pawlak the winner.

In the Orchestral Finals the contestants will perform a piano concerto with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Anna-Maria Helsing.

Chamber music ensembles in the finals

The commissioned work for the competition was composed by Outi Tarkiainen. Competitors may, in the second round, alternatively improvise on a theme. The theme is issued 20 minutes before performance.
