Brand new Bösendorfer 280 Vienna Concert Grand Piano was brought into the Camerata Hall at the Helsinki Music Centre on Wednesday. In the first round at least Tarmo Peltokoski, Justas Stasevskij, Ruslan Strogiy and Jun Bouterey-Ishido have chosen to play the Bösendorfer. New instrument was introduced just two years ago.
Competitors in the Fourth International Maj Lind Piano Competition may choose either the new Bösendorfer or Steinway & Sons D-274.
The Maj Lind International Piano Competition held in Helsinki on 14-27 October 2022 culminated in the second Orchestral Final on Thursday evening. The jury declared Piotr Pawlak the winner.

In the Orchestral Finals the contestants will perform a piano concerto with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Anna-Maria Helsing.
In the chamber music final on 23 October, the finalists will play a quartet together with chamber music ensembles Kamus or Meta4.
The jury selected the finalists on Friday evening after the second round.
The commissioned work for the competition was composed by Outi Tarkiainen. Competitors may, in the second round, alternatively improvise on a theme. The theme is issued 20 minutes before performance.
