Hans H. Suh (born 22 May 1990, Seoul) got fourth prize in the International Beethoven Competition Vienna in June 2017, and second prize at the Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition in March 2017. He also got the first prize at the Isang Yun Competition in 2016 and is the laureate of the 2016 Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition. He has performed with New York Philharmonic, Seoul Philharmonic, and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Hans H. Suh began playing piano at age four, and started composing at age five. He moved to the United States at ten years old, and one year later he won the New York Philharmonic Young Artist Audition. He received his music education at the Mannes College of Music Preparatory Division, where he studied piano with Yuri Kim and Vladimir Feltsman. Afterwards, he attended Columbia University, studying ancient history, while studying piano with Matti Raekallio and Emanuel Ax through Columbia University – Juilliard Exchange Program. Hans is currently pursuing master’s degree at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media, studying piano with Olivier Gardon.
