Kausikan Rajeshkumar (born 2 January 1990) has performed extensively across the UK and abroad, including at the Royal Festival Hall, Wigmore Hall and Queen Elizabeth Hall. He won the International Franz Liszt Competition for Young Pianists in Weimar in 2009, and the prize for improvisation. More recently, he won thefirst prize at the Parnassos International Piano Competition and the International Piano Competition María Herrero, second prize at the Darmstadt International Chopin Piano Competition 2013, first prize at the RCM Schumann and Beethoven Competitions and the Hopkinson Gold Medal at the RCM. His teachers have been Eliso Virsaladze, Leonid Margarius, Ian Jones and Tessa Nicholson. He has studied at the University of Cambridge, the Royal College of Music, the Accademia Pianistica di Imola and the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole.
